Students who enroll in magnet programs at A. Philip Randolph, Andrew Jackson High School, Darnell-Cookman 6-12, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Frank H. Peterson, Fort Caroline MS, James Weldon Johnson, Joseph Stilwell MS, Julia Landon MS,  LaVilla School of the Arts, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, Samuel W. Wolfson HS, Springfield Middle School, Stanton College Preparatory and Young Men's and Young Women's Leadership Academy at Eugene Butler must meet specified academic performance standards in order to return from one year to the next. These standards are:

Grade 6-7 Pass all coursesGrade 7-8 Maintain an overall unweighted 2.0 grade point average, and pass all coursesGrade 9-10 Maintain an overall unweighted 2.0 grade point average, and pass all coursesGrade 10-11 Maintain an overall unweighted 2.0 grade point average, and pass all courses

In addition, students at LaVilla must earn a "C" or higher in each arts area.
